At Teplis Travel we care about our impact on the environment. That’s why we’ve made green initiatives part of our business culture. For many years now, the corporate travel team at Teplis has supported green initiatives. In 2009, 99.5% of our tickets and itinerary/invoices were delivered in electronic format. We deliver 100% of client reports in a “paperless” environment, either via the TravelTrax® online reporting website or electronic mail. Teplis has strict internal policies on printing e-mail and other unnecessary documents.

Our corporate travel services are designed to utilize the latest in technology and online programs. This not only creates an easy to use and hassle free travel experience for our clients, but often includes environmental benefits as well. To assist our clients in their own green initiatives, we have researched the many carbon offset programs in the marketplace and have selected primary vendors which we feel offered the best value for our clients. While we have attempted to make a preliminary judgment regarding their individual merits, we suggest you take the time to look over the projects being funded by a firm before investing in their carbon credits. Most of the web sites listed below have carbon offset calculators which will determine the carbon produced by your last airline trip. To go to the website, click on each logo.

	US nonprofit organization with great projects and a low price per ton of carbon offset. Funds reforestation projects in Louisiana and Nicaraguan Rain Forest: wind, solar and methane power plants across the United States.
	Wind farms in Oklahoma, Nebraska, Minnesota, and California are supported by this US carbon credit firm, as well as methane power plants in Kentucky and North Carolina.
	UK-based firm offering Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) and Verified Emission Reductions (VERs). Does not develop its own projects, but only invests in those of others which have been audited and certified.
	Another UK-based firm, this one offering forestation projects in Europe and energy efficiency projects in Africa. Also offers an unique option, EU emissions credits which may be purchased and retired, making them unavailable to polluters.
	Renewable energy projects (wind, solar, methane gas) on small family farms and Native American reservations in the US are featured on this site.

	While the Nature Conservancy doesn’t offer a per flight carbon calculator they do calculate your total carbon footprint and can provide offsets for this amount. With an impeccable reputation and an aggressive program of purchasing land for preservation this organization is a perfect choice for travelers who want to be sure their carbon offset investment is well spent.
