Corporate Discount Travel – Saving You Money at Every Opportunity

Most managed travel programs will have a single preferred airline, a preferred car rental vendor and a few individual hotel properties near their headquarters with a negotiated rate. Larger accounts may have a second airline contract, but that is often the extent of their supplier benefits program. This limitation is usually the result of the amount of time and energy invested by their travel management company in finding and securing vendor benefits. At Teplis we go the extra mile to wring every last dollar of value from your supplier relationships.

Airline Corporate Discounts

First, we will determine where the greatest potential for corporate discounts lie in your primary airline contracts. Since several members of our management team have work experience with the airlines we know right away what opportunities will yield the greatest return. Then we consider secondary airline contracts, if feasible, focusing on specific markets where moving volume will generate favorable discounts. This is where most TMCs will consider their work finished and call it a day.

Teplis is just beginning at this point. We would enroll your company in multiple airline corporate discount programs, such as Delta’s SkyBonus, United’s Perks Plus, American’s BusinessExtrAA, Continental’s Business Extra and Northwest’s BizPerks.
These programs, which feature benefits such as free tickets, upgrades or elite status based on miles flown, have no enrollment cost for the company, and individual travelers will still receive their frequent flyer points as the company accrues points of its own. Many companies often overlook these cost-reduction opportunities, assuming you may sign with only one carrier. This is not the case. Multiple partnerships can yield measurable benefits. Return from these programs varies from 3-4% of total spend on each specific airline. Teplis will manage these programs for you, maximizing yield by applying these awards to high priced tickets when possible.

These savings, which can be substantial over a year’s time, are in addition to our own agency specific benefits, which provide additional fare discounts or class of service upgrades through our partnerships with selected preferred suppliers.  These programs can provide discounts of up to 10% off published fares in certain markets (particularly attractive when no other corporate discount program is applicable). Our Complimentary Business and First Class upgrade programs can effectively save up to 45% off the standard fare.

And finally, every reservation booked with a Teplis agent (or online via Cliqbook®) is checked against our consortia discounted rates. We are members of three major consortia: The ABC Premier Hotel Program, TravelSavers, and CCRA. All three have their rates/benefits loaded in our GDS, and will provide extra value in your airline, hotel and car rental reservations.
