If you go to the same destination frequently and would like to take the same flights, stay at the same hotel, and rent from the same car company each trip,
you can save yourself a lot of time by using a Trip Template. They're fast, and easy to use!
Creating A Trip Template If you want to use an itinerary you've just created as a template, click on "Save
As Trip Template" at the top of the page.
If you want to use a previous itinerary, open the itinerary by clicking on "All
Itineraries" on the left panel, then open the itinerary you need. Once you have it open, click on "Save As Trip Template". A new window will come up asking you to:
- Name the trip template (i.e. Los Angeles Sales Call)
- Leave the "Maximum Airfare" box blank.
- Leave "Passenger Type" set as Adult
- Click in the box next to "Accept Instant Purchase Fares" and "Accept Penalty Fares".
- Then click on "Save Template"
- When the "Update Succeeded" comes up, close the new window.
Note: Normally, the itinerary name will be the date you booked your reservations, unless you give it a new name. We recommend
that you "Change Itinerary Name" for every trip you book. Make it something you will recognize later (i.e. the event name, client, city,
etc.). This will help you later when trying to identify which trip is listed.
Using A Trip Template To Book
Now that you've created a trip template, you can use it to make repeat reservations in just 5 steps:
- Using the Menu Bar on the left hand side, click on "View List" under Trip Templates.
- A new window comes up showing your list of saved trip templates. Click on the template you want to use.
- It will now ask you to enter a Travel Start Date and the number of nights. Enter the new date you wish to travel on and the number of nights you wish to stay this time and click on "Continue".
- If a particular travel segment is not needed for your trip, click the check box next to "Reserve this..." to skip that item during
booking. Changes to this template can be made by selecting different options from drop down lists or typing over default
information. More information about a particular travel segment is displayed by clicking on the icon. When complete, click "Continue" to begin Trip Template processing.
- It will now book your complete itinerary and display it when it's done. Check it over and click on "Return to Finalize Itinerary" at the top of the screen.
- Your Detailed Itinerary screen will display where you can make any changes. Just select your credit card and click on "Purchase Tickets".
