Monica Teplis, Chairman, has been instrumental in steering Teplis Travel since its beginning in 1972. Monica is responsible for increasing the scope of Teplis Travel to become the international travel management firm it is today. She expanded operations establishing a West Coast Reservation Center in Las Vegas to complement our National Reservation Center in Atlanta. She led the company to invest in vital technologies which enabled Teplis Travel to surpass $100 million in annual sales during its third decade of operation. A permanent fixture on the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Top Women Owned Businesses in Atlanta (usually in the Top Five), Monica will take an active hand in seeing that your company receives the service it deserves.
Gary Teplis, Chief Executive Officer, has been in the travel industry most of his life, working to build Teplis into the company it is today. A graduate of Rollins College and London University, Gary interacts with travel managers and executives at firms with a global footprint, fine-tuning service delivery in an ever-changing marketplace. Staying on top of the latest developments in travel technology is a passion for Gary and he helps his firm keep pace with innovation in the industry. In addition to working in the family business, Gary has often been a venture capitalist, helping create the site travelscape.com which was quite successful leading to its purchase by a major online distributor.
Linda Alexander, Senior Vice President, Operations, has been with Teplis since 1996 and has over twenty-five years of travel agency experience including corporate and multiple-branch management responsibilities with several top-ranked agencies. Her responsibilities at Teplis Travel include direct supervision of the areas of Corporate Reservations, Onsite Operations, International, Groups, Vacations, and Quality Control. Linda will support our Client Services Manager in resolving all agent issues.
Ted Petty, Chief Information Officer (CIO)/Chief Technology Officer (CTO), brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Teplis with a broad background in the travel, e-commerce, and technology industries. As CTO/CIO, Ted leads Teplis’ strategic vision for client facing technologies, products, tools, and services including E-commerce, Digital, Online/Web, Mobile, Travel Technologies, and Business Intelligence. Prior to joining Teplis, Ted worked at several leading hospitality and travel companies including Walt Disney Parks & Resorts and AAA Travel.
Ashley Owens, VP Finance, Ashley joins Teplis Travel after a successful 14-years in the Hospitality Industry. Ashley has previously worked with leading hospitality companies including Pillar Hotels & Resorts and Schulte Hospitality Group. Her growth within Schulte Hospitality Group provided valuable leadership and accounting knowledge, which is an asset to Teplis Travel and its clients. Ashley is a graduate of Kent State University.
Elliott Stevens, Vice President of Sales comes to Teplis with almost 20 years of corporate travel experience including hotel management at Hyatt Hotels followed by multiple leadership roles at Frosch International Travel. Elliott brings experience in national and global managed travel programs while understanding the importance of high touch standards Teplis clients have come to rely on for over 50 years. Elliott received his Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management and Leadership from Friends University in his hometown Wichita Kansas.
