As additional compensation to travelers affected by the events that hampered the airline’s Atlanta operations last week, Delta will provide 20,000 bonus miles to impacted SkyMiles Members and a travel voucher in the amount of $200 will be issued to impacted non-SkyMiles Members.
Impacted travelers will be contacted via email by Delta with more information on how they will receive the miles or travel voucher.
Bob Somers, Senior Vice President – Global Sales reached out in an apology to its service partners and customers explaining the service issues last week were a result of unprecedented severe weather; a lack of available seats resulting from heightened spring break travel volume, as well as problems with crew tracking systems to adequately position Delta employees to do their jobs.
Operations have returned to normal this week and a thorough, companywide review of all aspects of Delta’s severe weather and crew tracking systems is underway.
