Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport will be getting a new 440-room, four-star InterContinental hotel designed by John Portman & Associates. The 11-story structure to be built next to the airport’s domestic terminal will include 80,000 feet of conference/meeting space and 60,000 square feet of office space. A restaurant is planned in the main lobby and a skybar that overlooks a runway will be constructed on the hotel’s 10th floor. Hotel visitors will have direct access to the domestic terminal via a new plaza, plus access to 750 parking spaces, MARTA and direct access to the SkyTrain, which travels from the airport to the nearby Rental Car Center and Georgia International Convention Center. Construction is slated to begin by early 2018. To read more at the Atlanta Business Chronicle, click here.
