Genius Packer Luggage Features | Teplis Travel

Tote this gear, and you’ll be traveling with ease

USA Today recently reviewed the latest offerings in luggage and carry-ons at the Travel Goods Association’s annual expo in Las Vegas last week, where 260 exhibitors displayed 450 brands. Here’s a look at some new items to consider adding to your travel arsenal.

Genius Packer 22″ Carry-On

Ideal for travelers who unapologetically admit to obsessive-compulsive disorder when it comes to packing, this hyper-organized bag has compartments for socks, underwear and electronic gadgets, including a mobile charger and mini speakers (both $28). It contains a zip-out toiletry kit, water-bottle holder and magazine pocket, and a compressible zip-out laundry bag with exterior laundry chute, so dirty clothes never touch clean ones. It is regulation carry-on size but expands to add 25% more space.; $198

Urban Crew Campus Laptop Backpack by iSafe

This nylon backpack will not only carry your laptop, it’ll sound the alarm if someone tries to steal it. It’s roomy, with seven zippered compartments, and contains two battery-powered sirens (louder than a car alarm, the manufacturer says), plus a high-intensity strobe light that can be activated with the pull of a cord.; $49.99-$89.99

Travelon’s Waterproof Portfolio for Tablet

This air- and water-tight tablet cover keeps moisture, dust and sand at bay. Added bonus: If the device does land in the water, a foam insert keeps it from sinking. Plus, the tablet’s touchscreen and camera remain functional through the cover, and it converts to an easel stand for easier reading or typing.; available in June, $40.00

Iron Maiden No Wait Stow by Pollyseon

An engineer and a hairdresser — both self-proclaimed “beauty addicts” — teamed up to create a five-piece travel ensemble targeted at the hair-obsessed. Among them: a heat-resistant bag that lets you stow a hot styling wand. It also features a heat-resistant retractable mat and a zippered interior that prevents kinks in the power; in nylon, $59 or recycled plastic, $69

Travel Happens, Sealed Wet Bag by Itzy Ritzy

Colorful patterned zippered bags keep wet stuff such as swimsuits and diapers from mixing it up with other contents of your luggage. The 100% cotton bags have PVC-free sealed interiors and are washable.; $15.95-$17.95 for medium (11×14 inches); $21.95 for large (14×17 inches)

Briggs & Riley Torq collection

The luggage maker’s first hard-sided collection is made of automotive-grade polycarbonate composite material with a “secret” middle layer that prevents cracking, and comes with an unconditional lifetime warranty. Available in three sizes, the bags zip open in an 80/20 configuration instead of the traditional 50/50 clam-shell design, which makes for easier packing and unpacking. Plus, the carry-on bag includes a protective exterior pocket.; available this spring, $479-$569
