Open Booking

A hot button issue among travel managers is open booking. This concept involves letting travelers book outside their mandated system, then using newly available programs to incorporate the booking into travel reports so the volume can be used in vendor negotiations.

Teplis is working with industry partner Concur to roll-out a new program to accommodate open booking.

With TripLink, business travelers can book hotels and rental cars directly on the supplier’s website, obtain their corporate-negotiated rates, and still bring all travel-transaction data back into reporting system. The traveler gets a complete itinerary and the company, travel manager, and TMC get total visibility.

Currently, just a few vendors have signed on as partners, including Marriott, AVIS, IHG Hotel Group and La Quinta.
